Duration: 6 Hours, 3 hours each day.

Students should arrive 10-15 minutes before to explain the space.

Pauline Massimo will teach from scratch the basics of Shibari, anatomy, safety, negotiation, and much more in English.

You can attend this workshop alone or as a pair/couple, the class content is suitable and designed to cover important basic needs for all roles: people who tie (riggers), people who are tied up (model/bottom) and people who self-tie (selftier).

This workshop offers the technical, theoretical and practical basics to begin to understand Shibari. It’s offered a line of study and tools so that those who attend can develop themselves and have a structured foundation to begin with. The entire course is taught based on Japanese practice with a non-dogmatic, accessible and flexible approach.

This workshop is presented and designed by Pauline Massimo who will share from their personal and professional experience in this field for over 10 years.

- Historical context and evolution of Shibari.

- Keys to make the practice of Shibari more ethical: vetting, negotiation, risk profiling, etc.

- Fundamental ties and knots (single and double column).

- Simple to complex frictions.

- Flow and adaptation.

- Care for ropes and other materials.

- Basic introduction to the anatomy of the tied body, common injury risks and how to mitigate them.

- Rope flow exercises, practical exercises at home and in class.

It is necessary to attend this class with comfortable clothes (you can change in the space) and it is preferable to work with natural hemp or jute ropes, which are between 7 and 8 meters long and between 5 and 6 mm thick.

Language:

This class will be presented by Pauline Massimo in English only and we do not offer translation to Spanish or other languages for this one. Only suitable for English speakers.

If you want it in Spanish, we recommend taking another course presented by a local teacher.

Materials in class:

You may bring your own ropes that fit the description above. Minimum 2 ropes per person for the entire course.

You can get ropes before starting your course by choosing the package with a set of ropes that has a discount included (15%).

You can buy them in our space once the class starts (10% for students).

Or you can borrow them from the space during the classes, but you can't take them home.

You must make the payment upfront and book in advance. If you cannot pay on our website, please let us know and we can find you a solution.

This two days split class is a perfect format for who wants to learn in a semi progressively way and build trust with a professional acompany them. Small breaks and rest when necessary but we won't have luch time during the class timeframe. You can always consult concerns and questions with the organization.

We recommend sanitary protocols during the time of the workshop if they are necessary (masks, distances, etc). Please do not come if you have strong symptoms like constant cough, fever, not feeling well in general event if testing negative for covid-19. We want to ensure a space of safety also in our health and all messuares that are necessary to avoid sick people are welcome. We are happy to discuss any concerns about this topic if you need.
