Community talk by Pauline Massimo (no pronouns / elle) and Roser Antuña (Ella)

Theme: Red Flags in the Shibari

About the talk.

This talk is aimed at people who are fond of Shibari and will talk about a common and worrying topic in these practices: predatory and abusive behaviors that occur with certain frequency and how we can identify the red alert flags or red flags . Many of these perpetuated, normalized and assimilated behaviors have their origin in our society, which makes it difficult to identify and deconstruct them.

We will talk about the identification of these signs as a method of protection and how we can act as best as possible in the situations in which they arise, so that with more education, care and awareness about these issues, we can have better, healthier experiences and strengthen our community, helping both those who are vulnerable to abuse and violence, as well as those who perpetuate and act in such ways. Our intention is to bring light and knowledge about the most difficult parts to deal with within this practice.

The talk will be presented, then there will be a round of questions and comments, at the end there will be a summary, answers and conclusion.

Duration.

The talk will last approximately an hour / hour and a half in which different participants will discuss the suggested topics at the right time.

About Pauline and Roser:

Pauline Massimo, with roots in Brazil and feet in Barcelona, co-founder of Espacio Nos and Learn Shibari.

He has been very intensive and pro-active in the Shibari area for almost a decade, exercising multiple roles as a visual artist, performer, instructor, organizer, apprentice, researcher, mentor and much more at the national and international level. His way of feeling, experiencing and exhibiting Shibari starts from its interdisciplinary and multifaceted base where it explores the infinities of relationships with other disciplines and ways of coexisting in the world with strong ties in radical politics, social constructions, neurodivergence, etc.

As an aggender person, she has no pronouns or gender reference but she does not mind that neutral terms are used towards her person (elle, for example).

About our community events:

If you see marked in some events as "community", that means that it will be given to people who are part of our community in Espacio Nos. These people usually have a direct link and collaborate in a participatory, proactive way to create a safer space , collaborative and that is a more heterarchical community (organizational system that predominates a consensual order). We give the space and opportunities to people of different roots, history and diverse experiences inside and outside of Shibari who can contribute their bit to our community and the people who visit and participate in us.

The events classified as community have a minimum donation base to participate, thus contributing to enhance the effort of each facilitator with a circular economy. You can donate as much as you want before and after the event and the space will keep a much smaller portion to help contribute to keeping it open, all the while trying to democratize the accessibility of Shibari education and diversify the different means of learning. If you find yourself in a difficult financial situation, you can request free access in the event that the online tickets are not available. We have limited capacity, even if it is low donations, seriousness is requested in attending and notify before if the assistance is canceled. Read the regulations, ticket policies and others before booking.

Please read our terms and conditions carefully as we have a strict policy regarding exchanges and refunds.
