Kanna and Kagura
Espacio Nos brings you excellent news: Kasumi Hourai will return to Spain for a tour between Madrid and Barcelona. A unique opportunity to learn from her again and deepen your understanding of her teachings!
From September 10 to 12 we will have a long and very special weekend with Kanna (they) and Kagura (she). It makes us immensely happy to be able to have the confidence and the privilege of bringing them from Japan for a queer friendly tour where they great wish is fulfilled, after almost two years without leaving Japan to show their work due to the pandemic and we would love to share with you this unique opportunity.
Their exclusive visit to Espacio Nos consists of a short workshop on Friday the 10th in the afternoon, two long intensive workshops between Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th, and a performance on Saturday the 11th at night.
Madrid

Topic: Kimono, Tea Ceremony and Etiquette
Friday, 4 September 2026 / 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Kasumi offers this theoretical workshop and ceremony shared with participants.
There will be 5 places to participate with Kasumi in a tea ceremony performed by her, and 3 places to participate dressed in yukata by Kasumi.
The remaining places will be for observing and listening.
Topic: ‘Delicate and detailed ways of tying (on the floor and in suspension) and the fusion of Japanese aesthetics with classic Kinbaku’
Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September / 10:00 to 17:00 (with a break for lunch)
This will be her first time teaching in Madrid. The event begins with an introduction to traditional Japanese Kinbaku techniques and the classical philosophy of Kinbaku.
Rather than focusing solely on suspension, she will also demonstrate variations of ropes on the floor, with different purposes, to explore both the fun and challenges of Kinbaku.
The natural properties of the rope, the movement of the human body and physical reflexes will be used to create different experiences, including:
1) Ropes on the floor as play.
2) Ropes on the floor as a form of pressure or ‘torment’.
3) Ropes on the floor as healing.
4) Ropes on the floor as communication between partners.
Shibari Soirée
Saturday, 5 September 2026 / 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
On this special night, we offer two Shibari performances. There will be an opening performance to start the evening, followed by a performance by Kasumi Hourai and her model, with a theme yet to be confirmed.

Topic: ‘Reducing the Risk of Accidents in Kinbaku and Enjoyable Bondage Rope, Variations Beyond TK, and How Small Adjustments Create More Beauty’

At the last workshop in Barcelona, she explained the beauty of asymmetry and its similarity to Ikebana. This time, she will revisit this topic, but her main goal in 2026 is research on reducing accidents in Kinbaku.
She wants to share knowledge for both the rigger and the model, including:
1) What to pay attention to.
2) What knowledge to learn.
3) What to do during and outside of rigging to stay safe.

En esta noche especial, ofrecemos dos actuaciones de Shibari. Habrá una actuación inaugural para dar comienzo a la velada, seguida de una actuación de Kasumi Hourai y su modelo, con un tema aún por confirmar.
All workshops are aimed at people who have a minimum of experience but generally no one is expected to be professional or very advanced. The idea of these workshops is to bring accessibility to learn with two such important figures of Shibari in Japan to people who are beginning or have intermediate knowledge and can discover, explore and learn more with Kanna and Kagura, so do not fear if you think that you do not meet the requirements.
